Accessibility

This statement is a draft. It will be published only once the accessibility testing described below has actually been completed and its results recorded. A conformance claim that overstates is worse than no claim.

01Accessibility

Our commitment

We build this site to be usable by everyone, including people using screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, magnification, or who need reduced motion.

This matters practically as well as ethically. Public-sector clients increasingly ask suppliers about digital accessibility, and British Columbia’s Accessible British Columbia Act and the federal Accessible Canada Act both move toward WCAG as the working standard.

02Accessibility

The standard we target

Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA.

03Accessibility

What we have done

  • Contrast: every colour combination used on this site was calculated against WCAG requirements before it was adopted, and a build check re-runs that calculation so a future colour change cannot silently break it.
  • Keyboard: all functionality operable by keyboard, with a visible focus indicator throughout. No focus traps outside the mobile menu, which closes with Escape and returns focus to the button that opened it.
  • Structure: one h1 per page, correct heading order, and header, nav, main and footer landmarks on every page.
  • Forms: every control has a visible label. Errors identify the field by name and are linked to the input for assistive technology.
  • Motion: no content appears through animation. Nothing animates on page load. Transitions are removed entirely when reduced motion is requested.
  • Targets: interactive elements are at least 44 by 44 pixels.
  • Images: descriptive alternative text; decorative graphics hidden from assistive technology.

How we tested

To be confirmed — Testing method, date of the most recent test, tools and assistive technology used. To be completed with real results — not estimated.

05Accessibility

Known limitations

To be confirmed — An honest list of anything not yet conforming. Do not claim full conformance while anything is outstanding.
